Annual Report

More than a place to live . . . a way to live.

UCHS provides "a place to live" for over 1200 individuals in 10 locations across North Carolina and Virginia.  Our "places to live" vary from location to location and indeed, there is something for everyone.  But those places don't define who we are.  What sets UCHS apart is the feeling you get when you visit one of our communities.  It's the smile on the face of a nurse or the greeting in the hall from a dietary staff member.  UCHS is the laughter of a resident in conversation with her friends, or an extra scoop of ice cream because we know it's her favorite.  It's a casual, friendly welcome to a new resident from a neighbor sharing vegetables from his garden.  It happens hundreds of times everyday and it is the true essence of "community".
